I'm looking for any info about removing brush with a bucket loader.Someone mentioned in another forem about using a brush brute on the bucket.i assum it's some kind of blade but i cant find any info by that name.Also remmember a dealer once mentioning a brush bucket for loader.Will be thankfull for any feedback.

Weld some backhoe bucket teeth to a piece of flat stock the same length as your bucket width. Then bolt the flat stock to your buckets cutting edge. You can probably buy something similar premaned. ....

It was me that mentioned the Brush-Brute, I have not been able to find them on the Net anywhere, but they are made by a very small company here in Canada, so not surprising. It goes on in place of the bucket, the principle being it tears the brush out by the roots, not just cut it off at ground level, this means no stumps, or regrowth from the stump (sometimes called "suckering"). I (as a landscaper) have tried MANY ways to get rid of scrub brush, NOTHING is faster. If I can find an address, e-mail, or snail mail, I will post it. ....

A JD dealer in Plattsburgh, NY (Giroux Bros) mentioned a bucket attachment like this to me last weekend. He didn't say the name of it nor the price. I'll post what I can find out. ....

Thanks to everone for the good feed back.I thenk i'll be able to come up with something b4 long.If i do i'll post it.By the way,for rigid brush with some horizontal branches such as Honeysucke(darn stuff),a pair of bucket forks work real well.Mount them close enough together to grab the limbs when
the forks are raised.For a stubbern bush you might have to budge it some before lifting,than it should pop right out. ....

Got some info on the Brush Brute from JD dealer in Plattsburgh, NY. This is the unit that Ted described in an earlier post. It is basically a replacement for your bucket that consists of ~12" V-shaped teeth mounted on ~4" spacing. These look like serious teeth; manufacturer claims that trees up to 4" diameter can get pulled up roots and all (assuming you have enough hp, weight, and traction). I think the unit is made in Ontario by a company called D.D.Scissons Enterprises Limited; phone is (613)283-2082. BrushBrute comes in 4 models: BB52 is 52" wide for 20-40HP ($1325), BB76 is 76" wide for 30-75HP ($1595), BB54 is 54" wide heavy duty for 30-75HP ($1595), BB88 is 88" wide for 75HP+ ($1980). These prices were from Giroux Bros (518)561-3682. Sounds expensive, but this unit looks like it could do a lot of damage in a short time. Hope this helps. ....
